Russian Yana Kudryavtseva won the all-around and two finals at the Grand Prix in Thieux
The Russian flywheel of rhythmic gymnastics is starting to spin . The second major tournament of this season, which was the Grand Prix in French Thiers, confirms this. Gymnasts traditionally changed all their programs, but the Russians invariably won almost everywhere – both in individual and group championships. The rivals were able to take medals only where the strongest gymnasts of the world made mistakes (I’m not afraid of this word – today it is so).
Now the advantage of the Russian team in the complexity of the performances, especially the work with the subject, is already visible, and if everything is done cleanly, it is very difficult to compete with them. Difficult, but possible. The same Melitina Stanyuta tries to take risks in her performances, making complex elements and having branded chips in her arsenal. But I made a lot of mistakes at this tournament. Anna Rizatdinova … I will express my subjective opinion. Anya is the world champion. Last season, the goal was to win at least one gold medal at the home championship, as a result of this, any risk was minimized, and to some extent this can be called justified. However, for this season, Anya herself in her interviews declared new goals for herself, according to which her performances will differ from last year’s. But what do we see? Essentially, only the exercise with the ball differs. The composition is really very beautiful, there are risks, original catch and rolls. There are continuous turns in the hoop, while the object itself is either not on the neck, or in the hand, sometimes the gymnast throws it up. In clubs it is practically the same – a turn – a “mill”; turn – throwing clubs. The ribbon is slightly better, but the complexity of working with the subject is clearly lacking. In my opinion, the champion of the world should set the bar higher for herself, especially since she has the skill for this. Why pinch yourself in the framework of rotations alone, if you can open up to the fullest? but also the difficulty in working with the subject is clearly not enough. Yana Kudryavtseva showed her champion character, revenge for a relative failure in Moscow. She won the all-around and two finals. All her compositions are harmonious and complex (one production, in my opinion, does not suit her very well, but this is just my subjective opinion). There are still mistakes that are typical for the beginning of the season, but this is normal. Margarita Mamun performed somewhat worse than at home competitions, making a mistake as for herself. However, her compositions are very lyrical, the gymnast shows on the carpet a mini-performance from which it is impossible to take your eyes off, and when to get rid of any roughness and there will be no losses, I don’t know who else will be able to compete with Rita in artistry (Alina Maksimenko, alas, completed her sports career) … Maria Titova has grown a lot. I became more confident. Perhaps the impetus for this was the victory in the Russian championship. Be that as it may, Masha believed that she could compete on equal terms with absolutely everyone. And self-confidence is perhaps the most important ingredient in achieving success.
Pleased with Neta Rivkin, especially in the all-around. But this is an experienced and skilled gymnast, she is always expected to perform brightly. Another thing is that the last season of the gymnast was not very successful, so she went into the shadows a little. I sincerely believe that this year Neta will be able to compete in the fight for medals of any value.
In short, the season is going to be quite interesting, which I have no doubt about. We are waiting for the next starts!
